What it’s for

The most commonly bought mineral on any supplement aisle, and the form people choose over the cheaper oxide.

What to check in the listing

The number on the front is often the weight of the whole compound; look for 'elemental magnesium' on the back, which is the real figure to compare between bottles. 'Glycinate' or 'bisglycinate' on the label, not 'oxide'. Third-party testing on the label is worth paying a little for.

Supplements are food, not medicine: nothing here treats or prevents anything. If you take any medicine, ask a pharmacist first.

FormCapsulesForm is how it arrives: something to swallow, something to stir into a drink, something to eat, or the kit that goes with them rather than a supplement itself.
PriceMid-rangePrice tier is the rough position within its category, not a live price: budget is the cheapest sensible option, premium costs more for a reason the page explains.
