What is reconstitution?
Adding liquid to a powder to turn it back into a solution. "Reconstituted" just means mixed. Step by step → Full explanation →
Why it matters when you shop
Turning a freeze-dried powder back into a liquid by adding a measured amount of water. The amount of water you add sets the concentration, and the concentration sets how many syringe units any given amount is. Get the water volume wrong and every draw afterwards is wrong by the same factor.
What to look for on the listing
- Bacteriostatic water for a vial you will draw from more than once.
- A luer-lock syringe and blunt needle to move the water, or a vial adapter.
- The reconstitution calculator, and a label with the date and the volume added.
